Churches in Shepshed Parish

Shepshed: St Botolph

Church Street Shepshed Loughborough
(01509) 502255
http://www.shepshedandoaks.co.uk/

In the first Quarter of 2008 a substantial re-ordering project was undertaken and we are now in a position to share this experience with all interested parties. It is felt that an ancient place of worship has been sensitively modernised by making it much lighter, warmer and welcoming while at the same time preserving and enhancing its historical features. Anyone who wishes to visit is invited to make contact and arrange for viewing at times when the church is not already open.

We also welcome enquires from anyone searching their family history to come and explore details that are available.
We have recently been advised that a Gargoyle in the North Aisle is a Sheelah-na-gig, which is a pre-christian fertility symbol and now subject to further investigation.
Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to receive a Church Magazine or follow the link to visit our website.
